ELECTRIC RAINBOW MACHINE
The Electric Rainbow Machine is the co-creation of Peter Venuto: musician and contextual interloper who operates under the ever-present spiritual guidance of Freddie Mercury and Nikola Tesla. The fruits of his musical labor include the damaged psych-pop of Slurp, the hyper-melodic disturbances of Elanvitale, the apocryphal pop of Adam 8, and the electro-rock innervisions of Very Venuto. Sometime in 2004, in an effort to generate a karaoke light band, Venuto crosses Musée Mécanique with Las Vegas and comes up with the Trashlites (www.trashlites.com). It will also be the year that brings Deerhoof and the Trashlites together for the first time. In fall 2005, inspired by the awesomisity of The Runners Four album, Venuto pushes the concept further with his pal Jimmy Green, accidentally splicing the concept of an electric fan with a windmill, in Vegas. Nine months of bated breath and innumerable ultrasounds later, the Electric Rainbow Machine is born.
